Amazing walk today! Went to Hayfield and walked Cracken Edge, and then up South Head and Mount Famine. Weather was beautiful and the scenery fabulous ~ 11.2 miles of glorious countryside!

Awful day in Oklahoma ~ a 2 mile wide tornado has wiped out a small town including 2 primary schools. Nature is amazing ~ but can also be so cruel.

Got up at 7am for the 2nd Sunday running ~ and headed off with Jen to Edale to go and track down the setting for the BBC drama The Village. We successfully found the barn an ha a great 9.33 mile hike. Was lovely :)

Had a craving for Scampi and Lemon Nik Naks ~ wasn`t even sure they still sold them but went on the hunt anyway! Did find them ~ but how disappointed was I !!!! They were bland and like cardboard. How things change!

Great day! Wigan v Arsenal ~ was 1-1 at half time and really believed that Wigan might do it ~ then Arsenal put the charm on and won 4 -1. With one game of the season left to go........VILLA ARE SAFE FROM RELEGATION!!!! WOOOHOO!!!!

Well Burkie`s fundraising kit arrived from BHF this morning ~ so it`s all getting very real! Only 123 days to get some training in for the mother of all challenges. Kilimanjaro is now looking awfully real for him!!!!

After watching the forecast all week, we set the alarm for 7am, an were up an at them to climb Edale ~ Jacobs Ladder ~ Crowden Tower ~ Grindslow Knoll ~ Edale. Drizzled a bit, but the minute we got in The Ramblers Inn for a pint at the end, the heavens opened! All in the name of excellent time planning I think!

If we had have won today that would have been it ~ Premiership safety. As it is , we lost 1-2 ......and Benteke got a red card which means he will miss the next match, a potentially HUGE game against Wigan ~ Away. So nervy times ahead!

Not unexpected news, but sad none the less.......Stiliyan Petrov announced his retirement from football today after his 12 month battle with Leukemia. He is currently in remission and is off to spend his time raising money into research for the condition. A great cause seeing as one of my best friends died in her 20`s from the disease. Good Luck Stan.

News broke today that after 27 years at United ~ Sir Alex is retiring at the end of this season. I`m not a Man United advocate, but I think he`s one of the greatest football managers and Ambassadors in history. Good Luck to him.
